Pickled steel profiles

In the pickling immersion process, the residence time required for the solution acting to remove the surface oxide depends on the type, thickness and adhesion to the metal of the flakes to be removed, the last traces of which will be eliminated from the surface of the component with a final and thorough washing and cleaning of the entire surface.

Pickling has the function of restoring a surface in terms of cleaning, removing pollutants for subsequent treatment and eliminating the chromium-depleted steel layer that commonly forms due to the alterations undergone during treatment, finally to attribute color uniformity to the artefact.

In pickled steel profiles are produced which generally undergo a subsequent processing and a second surface treatment which can be hot dip galvanized, cold galvanized or painted.

The pickled steel profiles are used for the production of:

  • shelves
  • guides for doors
  • roof elements for cars
  • lamp bodies and furnishing elements
  • load-bearing profiles for automatic warehouse drawers
  • load-bearing elements of gratings for roofing of ground ducts and fences
